Because of our growth and expansion, Universal has an immediate full-time opening for a high performing Director of Sales and Marketing to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative. The Director of Sales and Marketing will supervise, manage, coach, develop and coordinate the Inside Sales and Outside Sales professionals. This position will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting sales plans, and justifying those plans to upper management. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Director of Sales and Marketing will prospect for new accounts, foster current customer relationships, and continue the company's growth efforts.


  • BS/MS degree in business-related field.
  • 5+ years successful experience in a sales management role, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Successful experience in the distribution of products through a dealer network, both domestically and internationally.
  • Experience in training and implementing sales systems and programs.
  • Proven ability to motivate, guide, and direct a team to reach and exceed business goals and drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and industry experience.
  • Communication skills at a professional level.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement strategic sales plan to expand customer base and ensure strong market presence.
  • Sales forecasting and setting team and individual performance goals.
  • Manage recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
  • Manages and directs usage of CRM activities for both sales teams and marketing.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate programs to assist in promoting sales.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Prepares monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, inventory and areas of proposed customer base expansion.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows for the promotion of Universal Industries' products.
  • Directs, monitors and evaluates marketing department and responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for all lines of business.
  • Coordinates and assists in leading effective and efficient sales meetings.
  • Perform sales calls to potential and existing customers, as needed. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their individual needs.
  • Ability to travel, including overnights, consecutively.
